Developing a National Policy Statement for Water Resources and Proposed Amendments to the Planning Act 2008

On 5 April 2018 DEFRA published the Government's response to its November 2017 consultation exercise on the development of a national policy statement.  This is of particular interest for the Kent and Medway area as the area is short of water and has much planned development.

The next stages are a current consultation (closing on 26 April 2018) on the infrastructure types and sizes that will be included in the Planning Act 2008.  Later in 2018 the Government will hold a formal consultation exercise on a draft National Policy Statement.
