The Prime Minister, in a major speech today, concentrated upon increasing the supply of new homes but also referred to changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) needed to achieve an increased supply. Maximising the use of land, strengthened protections for the Green Belt and a greater emphasis on converting planning permissions into homes are at the heart of new planning reforms to deliver the homes the country needs. This is the first revision to the NPPF in 6 years.
The revised NPPF document is on public consultation until 10 May 2018.
