The NHS in Kent and Medway commenced a consultation on 2 February 2018 on its proposals to create 3 24/7 hyper acute stroke units in Kent and Medway. At the moment there are no 24/7 hyper acute stroke units in Kent and Medway but urgent stroke care is provided at six hospitals. The change to stroke services is being proposed because, currently, hospitals are not able to consistently deliver the standard and quality of stroke care that people should be able to expect. How could this affect your community?
